Emmanuel O. Okon earned B.Sc., and M.Sc., degrees in Economics in 1999 and 2006 from the University of Uyo. In 2011, he earned Ph.D degree in Economics from the University of Calabar. He is currently working as a lecturer in the Department of Economics, Kogi State University since 2016.

He is a member of the Nigerian Economic Society, and Nigeria Computer Society(NCS), Kogi State Chapter. He has published more than 50 research manuscripts in reputed international journals and most of them are available online. His main research work focuses on economic growth and development, trade, poverty, tourism, small and medium scale enterprises, etc. He has 7 years of teaching experience and 5 years of research experience. Over the years, he has gained valuable experience in consulting for government, and non-governmental organizations on socio-economic and other development projects and programmes.
